Jayne wearing her madonna top   Here's Jayne sitting astride her new baby

there's the next thing to be triked (the lawn mower) And here's Paul with Jayne. (Hold it! This is getting like a Janet & John reading book.) Anyway. Jayne's new baby is based  around Yamaha's XJ 650: I think it can sense something is going to happen using the front end, engine, engine cradle and the electrics as main components. you might get arrested for that The other main parts being the axel, pajxjweldrail.JPG (9142 bytes) and a pair of 15"X 195 Hockenhiem BMW series 3 aftermarket ally wheels wearin' some big  rubber boots. patented flexible exhaust mounting (available in all good stores)

The axel was sourced from the ubiquitous plastic pig. This has as usual been turned over and had the now near side drive shaft shortened, which not only narrows the axel to the required width:  "I haven't seen that under there before!" and as if by magic lines the diff up  with the gearbox output flange.

pajxj7.jpg (28046 bytes) These last two items are attached to the front  half of the trike by a tubular sub frame, the tubes being  bent by Paul using a manual pipe bender not! a hydraulic one. pajxj5.jpg (30272 bytes) A nice detail is the way he has bent the seat tubes to follow the contours of the seat. All the welding has been done by Jayne's dad who's a  welder and their mate john. so no worries about the frame coming unglued when nailing it around the lanes where they live in Whixall.(well known as North  Shropshire's answer to the Bermuda triangle. Many go in. Few come out).

A rare headless moggyThe fuel tank is off a Maxim the custom version of the XJ.

As you can see from the pics most of the main engineering work has been done,  even the prop shaft. which at the moment is waiting to be rewelded after an abortive test run where the axel wasn't as tightly bolted in as it was thought. And moved! Fortunately the prop let go, rather than smashing either the diff or the gearbox,  and has now been rebuilt. (It's taken about a year to get to this stage). What's left is mainly detail work such as mounting brackets for things like foot rests, seat, lights and rear mudguards. Jayne says she wants  the rear mudguards to be polished stainless.

At the moment building work has come to a stop as Paul is in need of inspiration to get on and finish the job. If he hangs around too much longer Jayne'll administer some to him with a blunt instrument.

Jayne as you might have noticed is well into having her skin inked, 11 tats so far. here is a picture of her back For those who said "I'd like to see the back of 'er". Well here it is! an' a very nice tat it is to. arrrgh!  that she is having done by Nick Green  of ARTISTIC TATTOOS in Wrexham.

This is Jayne's 2nd trike. The first was a Reliant based one that she called "Stick": But that's another story. As work progresses on the XJ I will update this page with more pictures

And finally so as not to make Paul feel totally sidelined (cos he's only the builder)  here is a pic of his GSXR Looks as if the gixer is ready to fight off mr angle grinder

Up date pics

Jayne. I thought you might like the back ground? Paul probably  won't notice till 2nd or 3rd reading.
