TENTH NABD RALLY

We were unable to make it to Santa pod for Friday. Due to work commitments. (couldn't get anyone to swop shifts with me). We had to settle for leaving mid morning on the Saturday, Also after much trauma in the preceding week of fitting the 4th alternator stator in 11 yrs and during a routine service which saw oil sprayed over half the shed interior and finding that the oil filter supplied by my local HD dealer, (local as in 40 miles away) was the wrong one. To long to fit where it should. So swop it for the right one. I imagine I hear you say. No time, this is Thursday night. Use the old one! Can't. did the old time honored trick of spearing it with a screwdriver to undo it. F****d. No! Sent the D.O to the local motor factors, (10 miles away) with old filter to find a close match. Got one (Ford cvh ohv). Anyway whinge over .

Arrived at Santa Pod early Saturday afternoon. Got setup and then went for a stroll round. One of the first things we spotted was this qwike. and here's some pics of other trikes that where in the show

Stue and Big Dave both took their bikes, ZX10 and 'busa respectively, for quiet sedate ambles down 'the strip' for a practice or two or three......... On the run I saw, Stue record this time

I finally got to see Firestorm run. after all the shows that I've been to where firestorm was one of the attractions I was always at the other side of the site when it made its runs. The stunt riders were very good, but this chap on the monkey bike was just as entertaining.

In the evening most people either gathered in the beer tent or the marquee where the comedians did their thing. The area in front of the stage remaining sparsely populated. Whether this was a reflection on the bands that played there or the draw of the other two attractions I don't know.
